A Dear Favorite Of Mine, Johnson Brothers Coffee

A dear favorite of mine, Johnson Brothers Coffee is one of those companies that I always come back to. I can honestly say that I’ve never had a coffee from them I truly did not enjoy.Today, I am reviewing El Salvador Pacamara Finca Los Alpes The Bank which received 94 points on CoffeeReview.
El Salvador Pacamara Finca Los Alpes is said to be
Deep, complex and layered. Night flowers, molasses, lemon, crisp cocoa in aroma and cup. Sweetly tart acidity, smooth, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Richly balanced, flavor-saturated finish.
The aroma starts of with a lemon tartness, hints of floral, and chocolate. Digging deeper you will find a very distinct molasses note.
The first sip starts off with a sweet, but tart acidity. After that it gets wild with notes of lemon tartness, hints of chocolate, floral, and molases. The coffee is crisp, yet smooth, and carries a light velvety body.
The tart acidity can be a little overwhelming, but I did find that brewing this in the Hario over the French Press produced much better results. The Hario gives you that tartness, but it is not as bright, and I noticed that the chocolate, and floral notes seem to shine more.
Overall, I did find this was an impressive cup of coffee. Sure, the tartness throws me off a bit, but it is really only a matter of switching brew methods to find which one fits the coffee best.
I’d give this a 4.25 out of 5 cups.
This coffee will run you $14.95 for a 12oz bag.
