Antico Caffe Greco From Gevalia Coffee Review

The last coffee I had from Gevalia, Colibri Azul was good, but there were things in the coffee I didn’t like.I am hoping that Antico Caffé Greco will bring something better to the table.
This coffee is:
A Roman tradition, delivered by Gevalia. Inspired by the classic Italian coffeehouse, established in 1760. This blend has a smooth, seductive aroma and a dark sweetness. Highlights of caramel will sweep you off your feet and take you away to the sweet life.
When I opened the bag, I wasn’t sure what this coffee was going to offer. I was getting a dark roast aroma coming off the beans, but in more of an unpleasant way.
I ground up my dosage of beans, and began to brew my coffee in the French Press. Once the coffee was done brewing, I noticed a light aroma come from my mug. There are slight hints of caramel, some sweetness, and a darkness around the edges.
Each sip carries some big flavor. This is a medium roast that has a dark flavor. I am getting some nice acidity to the coffee, and after that an intense caramel note hits my tongue. There’s a dark sweetness that follows through into the aftertaste. This coffee grabs your tongue and shakes it to life.
There is a bit of smokiness that lingers on my tongue that some may not find pleasing, but overall that is a minor setback for this coffee.
Overall, Gevalia won me over with Antico Caffé Greco. I’d give it a 4 out of 5 cups.
At $7.95 for an 8oz box, I hope you grab this and try it for yourself. You won’t regret it.
