Bolivia Cafe Alan Cup Of Excellence #5 From 49th Parallel Coffee Review

  • I came across 49th Parallel Coffee the other day and had to check to see what coffees they had to offer. It wasn’t long before Bolivia Café Alan Cup of Excellence #5 caught my attention. This was the coffee from them I had to try.

“Opening with an orange blossom and cinnamon aroma, the lush fruit flavours also bring forward jasmine, honey and chocolate. The creamy body and sweet acidity add complexity and balance to this delightful coffee.”

The notes from this coffee alone had my mouth watering.

When I opened the bag of the coffee, this brightness stuck under my nose. I could smell this fruity-sweetness, and honey. The beans alone carried an aroma that I have never smelt before in coffee. At least not until now.

The taste was an explosion of flavors in my mouth.

The first sip is this orange blossom note which is unmistakable. Then this honey note appears, and after that you are left with a sweet acidity.

As the coffee cools I can start to taste some floral notes coming at me. The aftertaste is quite pleasing, leaving you with a fruity-sweetness lingering on your tongue. This coffee just begs you to drink more.

    I’d give this a 4.25 out of 5 cups.

You can grab 8oz of this for $21 plus shipping.

Sounds amazing! I have heard some great things about 49th Parallel, but haven’t yet tasted any of their offerings. You can’t go wrong with a COE, especially when roasted at a reputable facility. Looks like I’ll have to try some sooner now :)
