Brazil Daterra-Sweet Yellow From ArtOfExtraction aka Neil Fruit Review

I was gracious enough to grab some freshly roasted coffee from Neil. Neil has been roasting for about two years now, using a behmor 1600, so it only seemed right that I ask to grab some of his coffee to see what it had to offer.Onto the review now.
I didn’t get much when smelling the beans. They had a darker characteristic and that was about it.
After brewing a cup, I noticed a mild sweetness in the aroma. There is also some some slight fruit notes in the background.
The taste is very good. The first thing I get is this bright fruity play to it with a chocolate sweetness. There’s is a little bit of a nutty earthiness play that lingers on my tongue.
Neil said the coffee was
Earthy, nutty, but nothing really exceptional. Still a solid coffee.
I am going to have to agree with Neil that it is a solid tasting coffee, but with some great, but not over the top notes.
I think he needs to think about starting a little home roasting business. (Hint. Hint.)
I’d give this a 3.75 out of 5 cups.
