Brazil Yellow Bourbon From Rocketfuel Coffee Reivew

  • After loving the Komodo Blue Dragon, I couldn’t wait to give this coffee a go, and see what it had to offer.

Opening the bag, I could smell small hints of chocolate, and a fruity note.

This coffee is said to have notes of:

Earthy, robust, medium heavy body with milk chocolate aftertaste. Tart with lemon-citrus note, floral notes of jasmine. Sweet with delicate acidity.

The aroma at first had a tea like feel to it, with a jasmine note underneath, and some floral play, but the next day was totally different.

I am now getting a chocolaty play, a bit of fruitiness in the cup, and some nuttiness.

The taste is all over the place. The first thing I notice is an chocolaty note with a hint of earthiness. There is a definite nutty note in the coffee. Underneath, there’s a bit of a fruitiness, but just hints of it. The nuttiness really lingers around on your tongue which is very pleasing.

As the coffee cools, a citrus tartness as described above starts to appear.

This coffee really does have a delicate acidity which is playing well with the overall taste of the coffee.

I am giving this coffee a 4.25 out of 5 cups. This is a really great cup of coffee.

At $20 for a 1/2lb this is one coffee you really should get your hands on.
