Broadway Blend From 35 North Coffee Co. Review

  • I’ve been eying 35 North Coffee Co. because they are new, and I love checking out the new companies to see what they offer. It wasn’t until Mike at DailyShotOfCoffee posted his review of Broadway Blend that I really had to speed up and get this coffee ordered.

Two other really cool things about 35 North Coffee Co. is that they sell fair trade coffee, but they also donate a portion of their net proceeds to Baby Safe. A organization to helping give abandoned children and potentially abandoned children hope at a normal life.

    From their website:

12 ounces of blended coffee from 2 different continents and three distinctly different coffee growing regions. This Medium roast will leave you with sweet, chocolate and nutty flavors perfect for your morning cup of coffee. It is truly unique to anything we’ve ever tasted.

Broadway Blend consists of: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Mexico Chiapas, and Peru SHB.

They came up with an interesting combination of beans. I really couldn’t wait to get this. I didn’t have to wait long either. Two days after shipping, the coffee was at my door.

I brewed some of this up and noticed the aroma had a bright fruitiness like a dried fruit, and a sweet nutty note. It is on the brighter side, but I am not going to let that hold me back.

The taste is very unique. I have to agree with Mike that there is a mint like note to this coffee. At first, it’s on the fainter side, but you definitely notice it, as it lingers around a bit. I detect some of the dried fruit note coming out more as the coffee cools.

The coffee has this “cool” feeling to it. For example: when you eat a mint, and you get that “cool” feeling in your mouth.

Overall, pretty interesting coffee. A little bit on the brighter side, but still good.

I am giving this a 3.75 out of 5 cups.

You can grab a 12oz bag of this for $9.88 plus shipping.

I can’t believe how quick they got the coffee there!

I’m glad you agreed with me on the mint note, I thought I might be imagining things.

    Mike,

At first I thought maybe you were, but then I tasted something weird, and realized that was actually a mint note.
