Cinna-Buzz From Boca Java Coffee Review

  • If you haven’t heard yet, Boca Java has released a new line of coffees called Boca Java Atomic. In the past, I would say I haven’t had the best experience with some of the coffees I’ve tried. This could be due to that I’ve had mostly flavored coffees from them, but I definitely wanted to give this new line a try. So far, the Atomic line has two coffees available along with Peanut Butter Bomb coming soon.

The first coffee I will be reviewing is their Cinna-Buzz which is a flavored coffee.

Cinna-Buzz is “beyond bold, a super-charged cinnamon flavor with an extra heap of caffeine!”

According to an interview on GlobeNewswire with Boca Java’s roastmaster Christopher Conover, the idea of Cinna-Buzz came to him when:

I was reminiscing about the fiery hard candy you used to get when you were a kid. That crazy level of cinnamon flavor that took your breath away,” said Conover. “Java Blast is a straight-up medium roast with the added kick of the extra caffeine,” he added.

Before I even opened the bag, the smell of a cinnamon/maple syrup mixture hit me under my nose. This coffee surely carries the award for the most interesting smell. I would just love to create an air freshener right now with this coffee.

After I ground the beans up, the cinnamon/maple syrup aroma seemed to go away and I was left with the smell of a nice bold aroma, but behold, once I added water the aroma reappeared better than ever.

I was starting to get a little giddy waiting for the coffee to cool. I noticed that the aroma carried a pleasing cinnamon note to the coffee with a bold presence. Once again, I get this slight maple syrup note to the coffee, and behind that a buttery sweetness. The aroma is not strong or overpowering at all which is something I am liking in this coffee.

I couldn’t wait to take a sip. I knew in the back of my mind not to expect too much from it, but I was actually surprised by the results.

The taste was delicious. A buttery cinnamon sweetness hit my tongue making me want more. It’s the perfect amount of flavor. There is an ever so slight bitterness, but not enough to complain about. This is a hundred times better than some of the other previous flavored coffees I’ve had. I also noticed after each sip, there is a bit of a warming sensation greeting my tongue. I’m pretty impressed.

I don’t want to brag here, but BocaJava hit it with this coffee, and I think I need to rethink my opinions toward flavored coffee.

Overall, I wasn’t expecting this to turn out good, but I had to hope right? My hope paid off, and this coffee has won me over. The caffeine content is quite good too. I definitely notice the coffee perking me up a lot quicker than a regular cup of coffee.

I am giving this a 4 out of 5 cups. Yep. You heard right. 4 out 5 cups.

Now that you’re done reading this, go over to BocaJava’s website and grab a bag of this. It will run you $7.49 for an 8oz bag. Not a bad deal. What are you waiting for?

I didn’t think that you were going to like this one when I found out it was a flavored coffee. However, it sounds like you found a winner.

Mike- I didn’t think I’d like it either, but it seems they really worked to make this one good. I am pretty brutal when it comes to some of their other flavored coffees too. haha I think you”d really like it.

Crazy, a flavored coffee that is worth checking out? I am with Mike when I saw this flavor I thought for sure you wouldn’t like it.

Love the new blog layout btw.

Jason- haha that’s quite funny that you and Mike didn’t think I’d like it. Someone might complain of the slight bitterness in it, but I didn’t feel bothered by it.

Glad you like the new layout.

    Jamie,

You have a talent that I don’t. Having severe allergies, I have a hard time distinguishing all the different favors in coffee. I really appreciate when someone can put into words what they are tasting. But, even though I don’t have the refined taste that you do, I’ll never quit drinking coffee!

    Thanks,
    Louise

Thank you for the kind words. Your taste buds grow so to speak as you taste more and more coffee. You are able to better distinguish flavors as time goes on. Keep tasting coffee, you never know. You might find notes in your coffee you may not have noticed before.
