Colombian Mesa De Los Santos Don Telmo Reserve From Coffee Labs Roasters

Thanks to ROASTe.com and their amazing idea that with every order and review they give you beans to use to buy coffee. I had collected enough beans to buy two bags of coffee. One of the coffees I bought was the Colombian Mesa De Los Santos Don Telmo Reserve from Coffee Labs Roasters which is aMedium body that features sweet caramel with lasting fruity chocolate notes.
Upon opening the bag I was greeted with a chocolate goodness and a slight spice in the aroma from the beans. The beans didn’t give away too much, but I just had this feeling that I was in for something great.
After brewing the coffee the smell of chocolate, notes of caramel and a vanilla sweetness filled my nose. After some more sniffing I got an amaretto note hiding in there.
The aroma alone just blew me away.
The taste was quite interesting. With notes of chocolate, a balanced boldness, and some slight fruity notes. The taste was a mix of greatness. There is hardly any bitterness to the coffee at all. The is a slight smoky darkness that lingers on my tongue a little, but overall is balancing to the overall flavor of the coffee.
This is one hell of a coffee. For me, it’s rare to find coffees where the chocolate note stands out with this much intensity.
I’d give this coffee a 4.5 out of 5 cups.
You can grab yourself a 1lb. of this for $15
