Costa Rica Finca Cerro Paldo From PT’s Coffee Review

  • I’ve been wanting to order from PT’s Coffee for awhile now, but I could never figure out which coffee I wanted to try. Well, I finally came across a coffee that seemed like a good match for me.

I am reviewing PT’s Costa Rica Finca Cerro Paldo.

Finca Cerro Paldo has a beautiful depth with the aroma of brown sugar and chocolate. In the cup, it is sweet, with notes of buttery caramel and milk chocolate. Its finish is clean and mellow.

You know a coffee is good great when you can smell the aroma coming from your cup, before your cup is even under your nose.

The aroma is carrying a sweetness play to it, which is now turning into this buttery caramel sweetness. The buttery note is something new to me as I’ve never had coffee that I could detect a buttery note in.

From the first sip, I am hit with this really interesting taste. I am getting hit with a fruity brightness that turns into this sweetness. Maybe the sweetness is the brown sugar. Whatever it is, it’s really great.

I am also starting to notice more of the brown sugar note, as well as a slight chocolate note in each sip as the coffee cooled down.

Overall, this coffee is great. The brightness was slightly brighter for my taste, but with the brown sugar, and buttery notes I was detecting, it managed to smooth out the brightness making this a truly great coffee.

    I’d give this a 4.25 out of 5 cups.

You can grab a 1lb. of this for $16.98 plus shipping.
