Ellie’s Choice From Wyo Toads Java Review

  • I think it’s safe to say that I live off Twitter. Not only am I a coffee addict, I am a Twitter addict. Because of Twitter, I came across Todd Sternberg, owner of Wyo Toads Java. Todd is offering up a new coffee, Ellie’s Choice which is a blend of: Yemen Anesi and Sulawesi Torajaland.

I knew I had to try this. I dove in the minute the mail came.

While brewing, I could smell this earthiness that just seemed to dominate the coffee. I wasn’t sure how this coffee was going to taste. I guess you could say I was actually a little worried.

The same earthy aroma carried into my cup. Underneath the earthiness, I was starting to detect something else, like a brightness. The brightness seems more of a slight fruitiness that was emerging through.

From the first sip, I was hit with that earthy aroma again, but right after there is a kind of bright, but pungent flavor that I just couldn’t put my finger on. A nuttiness started coming through right after, and just lingered on my tongue.

I was starting to feel like I was getting ready to brave the outdoors with this coffee, and that’s a good thing. This coffee is different from what I am used to, more like a whole new world for me, but I’m really liking it.

Once the coffee cools down, the earthy note settles down and becomes a very pleasing coffee with the nuttiness in the background, along with this brighter note.

Overall, I can say for sure that I probably wouldn’t have ordered this if I had heard the word earthiness, but I am glad I got the chance to try this out. This coffee has exceeded my expectations and worries.

    I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 cups.

Go check Todd’s website out here and grab some of his coffee.
