Ethiopia Sidama Natural From Social Coffee & Tea Co Review

  • There’s no doubt that Social Coffee & Tea Co is causing quite a stir in the coffee world.

Out of nowhere they grabbed the world by storm. Seeking almost all major coffee blogs, tweetin’ it up, grabbing a sponsorship, and getting some contests out there, Social Coffee & Tea have risen to becoming a coffee company you NEED to know about.

Social Coffee & Tea Co. is dedicated to bringing the highest quality fresh-roasted coffees grown anywhere to you, the toiling workers of the world.

We believe coffee should be a social experience, top to bottom. It should be delivered via socially conscious supply chains and brewed by impassioned devotees dedicated to providing delicious coffees for all, regardless of class, birthright or party affiliation. We roast and develop our own specialty blends using the finest coffee beans available.

After trying their El Salvador Finca Alaska recently, I was very excited to try out their Ethiopia Sidama Natural that they sent me.

On the website, Ethiopia Sidama Natural is said to have notes of “Citrus, fruity, floral, sweet, delightful with a lingering berry aftertaste.”

The first thing I noticed is a sweetness coming at me with this berry note. The aroma is mellow, but very enticing.

From the first sip to the last there is this sweetness that carries through with a blueberry like note in the background.

As the coffee cools, a fruitiness comes to shine a little more. There’s a pleasing chocolaty aftertaste that lingers around.

This is a medium light roast that’s mellow, but has enough flavor to keep you coming back for more. This would also make a very good iced coffee. Although the coffee is very good, it’s still a little mellow for my taste.

Overall, I’m giving this a 3.75 out of 5 cups.

You can grab a 12oz bag for $16 plus shipping.

Since I work about a 10 minute drive from Social. I’ve been a lot luckier trying their coffees and attending some of their excellent events. I loved the uniqueness of this Sidama coffee as well as they do a bit darker roast of it for espresso … http://blog.coffeestork.com/?p=197 . Highly unique with some great characteristics, although not everyone falls for the fruitiness as much as I did.

Yes, it was a unique coffee with great characteristics.

You are running a great blog there by the way. I am adding you up to my coffee bloggers list.
