Ethiopian Limu From BaristaOnDutY Review

  • Johnny Milton A.K.A. BaristaOnDutY hits my favorites list not just for the great coffee, but because he home roasts his own coffee using a skillet. I attempted roasting with that method a few times and failed miserably so I give him tons of props for all his hard work and great skills.

    On to the review:

Smell: Slight winey notes to the coffee, got a slight chocolate smell off the beans, some fruitiness coming through as well.

Taste: There are notes of fruit, a pronounced winey note, and dates.

Overall, I found this a very clean tasting cup of coffee. I didn’t get too much of a smell after opening the jar and the taste is overall a little lighter than I would have expected, but this is still an exceptional coffee.

You can grab a 6oz jar of this coffee for $15 plus shipping. Also, check his site for other sizes and pricing of coffee. If you really feel like showing some support, send a donation to him and help keep this going.

    I’d give this a 3.5 out of 5 cups.

U Know I Felt The Same Way! Yirg Was My First Real Love N To Be Honest 2 Me Not Many Coffees Can Rival Yirgacheffe IMO The Thing Is With Each Roast N Farm It’s Different, Yirgacheffe Has A Wide Range Of Roasting Technique As Far As My Research Goes, Limu Is Great As Well, But Individually I Know The Limu N Yirg Are Equally Matched! The Thing Is Getting The Exact Extract 4 The Individual ;) When Come Down To Visit U I’m Gonna Spend A Weekend, I’m Gonna Make U A Believer! I Must Also Say That In Speaking The Truth, If A Person Favors More Of The Citrus Notes Of The Yirgacheffe, The Limu Bec Of It’s Pronounced Opposite Notes Of Cherry Chocolate It Would Note Compare. I Guess That Why I Have The Dear Job Of Customizing Beans To My Clients Expectations! So Now The Yirgacheffe Ur Getting Do U Prefer The Lighter Version? Oh Yeah The Kenyan AA Have It Ur Way This Will Be The Battle Of The Citrus! Ur A Florida Boy Now! U Can Handle It C|_| BTW Thanks 4 Causing Me To Write A One Page Coffee Comment! U’ll Pay For That Comment! HaHa
