House Hunting, Roasting, Lovebugs Ohhh My!

  • Hey guys! Hope everyone has been doing well. It has been an interesting and crazy week for me.

I thought I’d do a little update on what I’ve been up to these past weeks as you may have noticed I haven’t been tweeting all that much.

I’ve been quite busy searching for a house. Let me just say how awful and time consuming it has been. I think it’s making it even harder for me because I am trying to find that perfect house to run a roasting business out of. Yep. I said one day I would set up a roaster to run out of my house and the day is hopefully coming soon.

Anyways, in somewhat other news, my brain has decided to protest against me. I’ve been having some issues remembering to get things done like finishing a few coffee reviews. Whoops. Thankfully I have good memory when it comes to remembering what I tasted and smelt in a coffee.

Last week I was working on my experiments with the Chemex and KONE. Well, I have abandoned that project for the time being until I can get some fresh coffee in the house. I’ll be firing that back up next week with some home roasted coffee as well as some coffee from Klatch Roasting that I ordered.

In some seriously random, but interesting news… It’s lovebug season. So, what does this have to do with The Coffee Adventures? Lots… I was roasting up a batch of coffee for my next Home Roasting installment when the behmor went into cool down mode I noticed within an instant that lovebugs were somehow attracted the the smoke of the coffee. It seems lovebugs like coffee too.

You learn something new every day. So, until next time… Have a good week!

Good luck with the house hunting, it’s definitely a buyers market from what I’m seeing.

Who knew that the love bugs would like coffee roasting smoke. They seem to love my wind shield and the front of my car, a little too much.

Thanks, Mike! Seems good luck may have just come my way too. Might be signing contract on a house by the end of this week.

I’ve hear lovebugs are attracted to weird things, but coffee roasting smoke? I roasted the other day, and sure enough the minute I started cooling the coffee they came from all directions and started flooding the outside of the porch.
