Kona Nightingale From Coffees of Hawaii Review

  • This is the second coffee from Coffees of Hawaii I am reviewing. This one is Kona Nightingale which is made from 100% Hawaiian Kona Coffee and is a “dark-roast bean which provides the finest classic Kona experience—a deep, resonant matrix of flavor with wine-tinged fruit tones and an exquisitely sweet finish.”

From the aroma I notice there’s an ever so slight darkness mixed with a chocolaty sweetness. There’s a light fruitiness that is hiding in there that I am starting to notice.

The taste is just as delicious as the aroma. There’s a chocolaty flavor with a fruitiness that emerges through. There’s an ever so light darkness to the coffee. I think that If I hadn’t read the label I honestly would have not guessed this was a dark roast.

As the coffee cools I do notice slight wine like notes which are more pronounced. There’s a bit of an aftertaste to the coffee which isn’t bad at all. Overall, the coffee is smooth and delicious.

All the Kona coffees I’ve had have been great in their own way. Bringing their own flavors and characteristics to the table. This is one of those great Kona coffees.

I’d give this a 3.25 out of cups.

You can grab a 2oz sample of this for $3.50
