Lamb In Coffee Recipe

I found this recipe on the Home Cooking site.I thought the Coffee Beef Stew was odd, but this hit a new level. Turns out, this recipe was just as delicious as the Coffee Beef Stew.
I changed the recipe ever so slightly by adding about a 1/2 cup of coffee instead of a 1/3. I’d also recommend marinating the lamb in the brewed coffee before cooking.
Ingredients:
* 6 lamb shoulder chops
* Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
* 1 teaspoon (about) olive oil
* 4 Tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
* 1/3 cup strong coffee
* 1/3 cup honey
* 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
* 1/4 teaspoon mace
* 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon curry powder
* 3/4 teaspoon lemon juicePreparation:
Season lamb chops with salt and pepper. Heat a heavy, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan. Sear lamb on both sides, turning only once. (Do this in two batches if need be, adding a little more olive oil if necessary.) Remove to a platter.Reduce heat to medium-low. To the same skillet, add butter, stirring until melted. Whisk in coffee, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mace, cardamom, cinnamon, curry powder, and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits into the sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, until thickened.
Return lamb shoulder chops to the skillet along with any accumulated juices. Turn to coat with sauce and simmer for 2 minutes to reheat before serving.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings
This recipe was quite interesting. The lamb looked disgusting when it came out of the pan, but the taste was something to be talked about. The honey and cinnamon really shined in the lamb. At first, it was a little weird eating lamb that tasted sweet with honey and cinnamon, but it really grew on me. I could also taste hints of cardamom and mace in each bite. Those were two very interesting seasonings that added that extra goodness. The coffee wasn’t as pronounced as I wished it had been, but you could still taste hints of it.
I definitely want to redo this and marinate the lamb in the coffee to grab more of the coffee flavor. Other than that, this was a really good recipe that I’d recommend everyone try.
QOTD:Has anyone tried any weird recipes involving coffee? If so, what were they?
