Organic Guatemala From Kickapoo Coffee Review

After seeing Kickapoo’s Organic Guatemala coffee in a can on Mike Crimmins (DailyShotOfCoffee) blog I realized I had to grab some of this. When do you ever see freshly roasted whole bean coffee in a can? Well, the answer is never, unless you are thinking of Folgers, or Maxwell, but those are pre-ground and like 6 months old. From the instant I pulled off the seal from the can I was greeted with an intense aroma that literally infused into my nose for a few minutes. From there I knew this was something special and amazing all together.
The coffee is a medium roast and is said to be
Deliciously fragrant and complex with juicy sweet acidity, and notes of lemon and berry in the sweet finish.
The aroma really shocked me as I was expecting more of a mellow coffee than what I was greeted with. The aroma is sweet, and fruity, with hints of spice. It has a bright and bold smell, but not a dark bold smell. It’s more of an in your face bright aroma that really hits you.
The taste is just as amazing. I get a spice that I noticed in the aroma, which dissipates rather quickly. There is a slight fruitiness to it, with a hint of brightness like lemon.
Overall the coffee is very clean. It’s not a heavy coffee at all, and after each sip it has your tongue dancing for more.
I’ve been enjoying this coffee very much. For me, it’s been a great coffee for any time of the day.
I’d give this coffee a 4 out of 5 cups.
You can grab a 12oz can of this coffee for $10.75.
