Papua New Guinea From Higher Ground Review

  • After reading a review from a fellow coffee reviewer Mike Crimmins from Daily Shot of Coffee I decided it was time to try my first Dark Roast of coffee. Mike has some great reviews ranging from store bought, to online ordering, and k-cups.

The coffee which had caught my eye was Papua New Guinea from Higher Ground.  I’ve been wanting to try some of their coffee for awhile now, but I always tend to forget since I have a H-U-G-E list of coffee from various companies that I’d like to try.  I never seem to put a dent in that list since I’m always adding more and more each day.

I am also not a big fan of black coffee, but I always make it a point to try my coffee black before I add my lovely half-n-half just in case I actually find it pleasing to my palate.  Four and a half scoops of beans, and four minutes later I think I got a nice brew of this coffee going.  The first sip was strong for my taste.  It’s a very bold coffee hence the dark roast, but it was actually not that bad.  I didn’t experience much of the flavors that come through coffee as it cools.  Mostly just a dark roast, that was well rounded that didn’t linger much after.

All in all I don’t think this was a bad roast at all and also putting my dislike for dark roasts I’d give it a

    I’d give this a 3.5 out of 5 cups.
