Prologue From Storyvile Coffee Review

  • I have a ton a favorite coffee companies, but non of them have wowed me like Storyville Coffee has done. It was a little odd to me that they only offer one coffee. To be exact, one blend.

Storyville has one flavor – fresh. Our philosophy is: keep it simple and make it great.

Prologue is a blend that was not chosen lightly, and is a product of heated discussions, passionate tasting and lots of air miles. They say they won’t disclose the profile because they believe it’s the best blend on the planet. Let’s see if that’s true.

I have to say that I am really loving the packaging. When I got the package, it didn’t come in some brown box that most coffees come in. The box is branded with their logo, and when I opened the box I was greeted with a welcome letter, a DVD, and a recipe card.

When I finally opened the bag, I was greeted with a very pronounced floral aroma, some earthy notes, and hints of fruit. Overall, this was a very inviting coffee. The coffee drew me in and I didn’t want to take my nose out of the bag.

After brewing, I sat down with my cup and waited for it to cool down. As I was waiting, a smooth aroma hit me. I was starting to smell those floral notes again. Then, some slight earthiness. Now I really couldn’t wait to try this.

The first sip lead to an earthy/musty play, and I mean this in the best way possible. It’s the good kind of earthiness. If there is a good kind. Behind the earthiness, a floral note started to appear. I can’t place the floral scent, but I know I’ve smelt it before.

After each sip, your tongue is just begging you for more. It’s such a clean and delicious coffee. I think I am starting to understand why they only needed one coffee. This is very good.

It doesn’t take 5 or 15 coffees to make a company great, it only needs one.

    It’s that moment. It’s …

    The Story

Storyville is not a place, exactly. It’s more like a moment, but not only a minutes-and-seconds moment. It’s the event that happens when coffee goes in and something true comes out. You. Your story – fact, fiction, chapter, verse, whatever form it takes. The everyday moments of people living their lives with coffee is why we’re in business, why we work to make roasting beans an art and fast delivery a science.

I am giving this coffee a 4.5 out of 5 cups. A coffee doesn’t need to be exotic or expensive to be good. Sometimes all a good coffee needs is passion and hard work.

At $13.99 for 8oz it’s a little expensive, but well worth it. Go check out Storyville and give their coffee a chance. They also carry this coffee in decaf which is called “Epilogue” so check that out too if you need decaf.

Me too. I thought at the time that it was odd to only offer one coffee blend, but after you try their coffee you quickly understand why. They have a great blend there.
