Bean/Water Ratio: 19/350g 50 second brew timeNotes:
Honey, spice, and everything nice in the aroma. Dark chocolate, honey, and hints of spice followed by a light acidity can be found. Dark chocolate note lingers well into the aftertaste leaving you with a heavy sweetness on your tongue. As the coffee cools close to room temperature a fruitiness explodes like a bomb. It tastes like a mix between lemon and berries.
Spiced honey, low acidity, clean, crisp finish ~ Augie’s Coffee Roasters
Verdict:
The fruit bomb at the end was a very pleasing surprised and really livened up this coffee. I found this to be the second coffee from the Costa Rican region that has not been what I expected, and not in a bad way either. The dark chocolate play, and the intensity of the sugary sweetness that this coffee carries through the cup was the most surprising for me. I expected a brighter cup and maybe just hints of chocolate/sweetness, and found a total opposite instead.
For anyone looking for a nice chocolaty/sweet cup, this is the coffee for you.
