Verdict:
I had tons of fun playing with this coffee. This coffee is a very limited and unknown varietal that Luis Rodriguez discovered on his families farm. You can read more about the coffee here. From various experiments the last few weeks between the Areopress and the Clever Dripper I have found that the brighter and fruitier coffees don’t do well in the Clever Dripper. They usually just end up tasting like all the flavors were mushed together in one, but this time I didn’t find that with this coffee.
Instead, the coffee tasted the same in both methods with just slight differences. All in all, this was a great tasting coffee. The thing that stood out most for me in this coffee was the odd sparkling acidity which danced on my tongue like I had just finished eating pop rocks.
Overall, I would recommend you try this before it sells out if it hasn’t already. A truly unique coffee in my book.
