Aroma is heavy with chocolate, and a molasses like sweetness. Each sip carries a heavy body. Underneath, chocolate and a light tart play comes through. The chocolate note lingers around heavily on my tongue after each sip.
As the coffee starts to cool I noticed it opens up with a vanilla sweetness, and hints raspberry. Right behind the vanilla sweetness and raspberry note I start to notice a whiskey play emerging from the cup.
Caramel sweetness in a big, round cup. Vanilla, butterscotch and brown sugar. As it cools, the body becomes syrupy and a cola-like sweetness emerges. ~ Doma Coffee
Verdict:
The heavy body, and intensity of this coffee was a bit much for me, but I found that as the coffee started to age into the week old mark it mellowed out just enough to make this coffee very enjoyable. The best part was when the coffee started to cool how it opened up with vanilla, and whiskey.Overall, this is a wonderful coffee that won me over in the end.
