Review: Panama Elida Estate Natural from PT’s Coffee

  • PT's Coffee

It’s a sad thing to say that until now I have not had any coffee from PT’s Coffee. Sorry guys!!

However, it wasn’t until I read Brian’s (Dear Coffee, I Love You) recent review of Panama Elida Estate Natural that featured on the Member’s Pick list on GoCoffeeGo that I knew I had to try this coffee as soon as possible.

It was a good thing I listened to myself too as this coffee is now out of stock until sometime next year.

    Panama Elida Estate Natural is

a very unique coffee. It has a concentrated sweetness that jumps out of the cup. As an espresso, Elida Natural has notes of tart, juicy strawberry, that rounds into dark cherry. Rich milk chocolate notes and hints of sweet cocoa in the finish.

From the moment I opened the bag I knew I was in heaven. I was greeted with the most amazing aroma ever. Wild blueberries and floral notes rushed out and took over the kitchen. I had to take a moment to let the aromas sink in, and then sink in even more.

From grinding the beans to pouring that hot cup of coffee, the wild blueberry note was everywhere. It was distinct, and sure it was dominating the coffee, but as the coffee started to cool that was when I realized amazing this cup of coffee really was.

The aroma kicks your nose into high gear with a distinct blueberry note, but underneath you will find hints of milk chocolate, strawberry, floral notes, hints of lemon zest and cedar.

Each sip starts off with that luscious, but sweet blueberry note. After that, your tongue explodes with lemon zest, milk chocolate, floral, strawberries, and hints of cocoa.

The coffee is bright, yet carries a crisp, and very clean aftertaste and was a great introduction to PT’s as well as the perfect way to start the new year.

    Brian was right:

This coffee tastes as brilliant as it smells.

Overall, I would give this a 4.75 out of 5 cups which is a first ever here on this site.

Keep a look out next year for this coffee. It’s awhile away, but so worth the wait.

Beautiful description of what reads like an amazing coffee. I’m yet to try a PT’s coffee myself, but will have to change that.
