Upon opening the bag you are greeted with what I can only describe as the first whiff of when you walk into a Whole Foods or Fresh Market. The wave of spice, fruit, fresh baked goods, and more. That is exactly what this coffee smells like upon first whiff. This coffee has notes of fresh rosemary, and tomato soup in the aroma. Each sip carries a nice balance of acidity, rosemary, hints of tomato soup, a little chocolate, and sprouts of lemon in the finish.
Verdict:
I had a little trouble in the beginning figuring out what I was smelling/tasting, but after a few cups it started to come to me. The tomato soup note caught me off guard. Was I really tasting this or was it in my head? I ignored my discovery of this and kept drinking on until a few days later when I realized I couldn’t ignore it anymore. There was definite hints of tomato soup in the cup.I know it sounds pretty disgusting, and not something you want to taste in your coffee, but give it a chance before you go and write it off altogether.
