Shorty’s Blend From Buddy Brew Coffee Review

After loving Bali Blue Moon from Buddy Brew Coffee I was very excited to try this Shorty’s Blend that they offer on their site.A little background on Shorty’s Blend:
Shorty is a very close friend of mine and a complete coffee freak. Since BBC’s public debut, Shorty has been one of Buddy Brew Coffee’s biggest fans and supporters. One morning after Shorty came by to pick up his weekly addiction I called to get his routine critique. He proceeded to tell me that whatever he was drinking sure wasn’t his ritual beaner BUT was the best darn coffee he had ever tasted!!?! I said, huh? And that’s when the big light in my dome went off…I realized I somehow had mixed 2 bags of beans together. After much trial, error and shaking like a leaf from tasting gallons of coffee, Shorty and I were finally able to re-create the blend that has become my greatest & best mistake.:-)
I’ve almost gone through the whole bag before I could even write this review up….This coffee is THAT good.
The aroma reminds me of Bali Blue Moon, and another bean I can’t put my finger on. The aroma is sweet like vanilla, with hints of a smokiness, and smooth around the edges.
The taste is wow. The coffee starts out sweet, and I can taste hints of vanilla. There’s a smokiness that starts to appear, but doesn’t stick around long. There’s some spice notes appearing too.
As the coffee cools, notes of chocolate, as well as some nuttiness lingering on my tongue after each sip.
This is a coffee I have found myself not straying far away from. This was Buddy Brew’s best mistake.
Overall, very impressed with this coffee. I’d love to know what beans they used, but I think I like the suspense of not knowing a lot better.
I am giving this coffee a 4.5 out of 5 cups.
A pound of this will run you $12. I suggest you add this to your list of coffees you need to order.
