Smokin’ Gun From Cherokee Coffee Review

  • Cherokee coffee was kind enough to send me some of their dark roast coffee to review. Smokin’ Gun has a “robust, smoky flavor that will awaken your senses. The herbal tones give it a smooth, rich finish.”

Smokin’ Gun features beans from South America and South Pacific Islands.

From opening the bag there is a wonderful dark aroma coming at me that fills up the room. It had me liking this already even though I do not particularly like dark roasts, but I wanted to give this a chance.

The aroma of the coffee filled the kitchen with a dark and smoky, but sweet flavor. I was still liking what this coffee had to offer and hoped the taste was the same wonderful flavors I was smelling.

From first taste you are met with a really balanced smokiness. After that you are hit with this sweetness and then a lingering darkness.

When the coffee cooled a little more I started to notice a slight herbal note. This had me liking the coffee more. The smokiness started to settle down and then became a really pleasant dark roast coffee.

For people who do not like dark roasts I suggest you at least try this.

Overall, I’d give this a 3.5 out of 5 cups.

You can grab a pound of this for $9.99
