The Clever Dripper: Let The Experiments Begin
-

A few months ago I took the plunge and purchased a Clever Dripper, but I also made a purchase for an AeroPress. Upon them arriving I tried to juggle them both, but found it very hard to experiment and keep track of two different brewing methods at the same time. It was unfortunate, but the Clever Dripper soon took the back burner until last week when I finally broke myself away from the AeroPress and once again resumed experimenting. My past experiments with the Clever Dripper were not the best by any means. Looking back, the ratios I had thought were good were just plain awful compared to what I am experimenting with right now. I have been working hard for the past week or so now trying to find that perfect brewing ratio for my tastebuds. Let me just say that it has been one hell of a struggle too.
Too many beans have gone wasted. RIP beans.
I can’t help but even laugh a bit as this is supposed to be one of the more forgiving pour-over methods out there, yet it has shown no forgiveness toward me. I am hopefully just making it out to be harder than it actually is, or just completely over thinking it all. At least that would be an easy fix, right?
Normally I would make a transition as easy as possible by heading over to the trusty Brew Methods site and go through the list of helpful guides and videos to get me started when I begin with a new brewing method, but this time I decided to take a look at my past experiments with the Clever Dripper and adjust the variables and find a good baseline to start with on my own.
This adventure has not been easy, but not relying on the internet or word of mouth has really proved fun while experimenting.
Make sure to keep a look out for my experiments as I will be posting as regularly as I can to update you on what I am doing with the Clever Dripper, and any helpful tips I find along the way to help you out so you don’t end up wanting to rip your hair out like I have been wanting to do.
Have a good one!
