Why Do You Drink Coffee?

  • I want to know the burning question…Why do YOU drink coffee?

Do you drink it because of caffeine?

    maybe because of taste?

    or something else?

Leave a comment and tell me why YOU drink coffee.

It’s for different reasons at different times for me. In the morning it’s definitely for the caffeine wake me up! Other times it’s because of my need for adventure and exploration and craft in making an awesome tasting cup of coffee that didn’t originate from a can of pre-ground beans! I enjoy learning and as an analyst by trade I tend to need to know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING :) So it’s all about the learning journey for me overall … Plus it tastes amazing :)

I drink coffee for the sheer decadent pleasure of it. Do I really need another reason? I love the way it tastes and find comfort in the coffee making ritual. It is just a civilized way to take pause in one’s day.

    Ciao,

    Tom,

For me, caffeine doesn’t really do much for me anymore, but the smell alone of fresh coffee wakes me up out of my sleepy state. I agree about the adventures of making an awesome cup. It’s amazing how many ways we can make coffee, and so much fun to try them all too. :)

    Ardee-ann,

I really like your comment. I wish more people would drink coffee for not just the sheer pleasure of it, but more so to enjoy what fresh coffee tastes like.

I get a coffee high from the quality of the cup. I enjoy getting out of bed with excitement knowing I have some great beans waiting to be ground and brewed. I’m not doen until the pot is clean.

  • Jamie

I feel you on that Todd.

I have to agree. I love coffee and drink coffee for pleasure. The smell alone is enough to wake you up and put a smile on your face. The simple excitement of making a cup anytime is certainly a ritual that is therapeutic and comforting. Keeps me sane.

I started drinking coffee with my daughter when she lived at home. With our busy lives, it gave us “our time”. We could sit with a cup of coffee and just chat away. It allowed us to connect on so many levels. Now I drink it with my husband for the same reason. We have a cup everyday when he gets home from work. No cell phones, no computer, just us and a cup coffee.

    Sandra,
Making coffee is certainly a ritual, and can be very therapeutic too.

    Judy,
That’s very cool. I like the idea of no cell phones, and no computers. Do you and your husband try and taste what flavors are in your coffee as well?
